MORE than 180 horse riders saddled up to raise money for Manorlands.

They took part in an annual eight-mile ride through the Coniston estate, at Coniston Cold.

The Mount Up for Manorlands event coined-in more than £3,800.

Half the cash will go to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice while the remainder will be donated to the Pendle Forest & Craven Hunt, which co-organised this year's ride.

Manorlands fundraising assistant Jodie Batters said: "The Bannister family, owner of The Coniston Hotel, has been a fantastic supporter of the Sue Ryder charity throughout the years and kindly allowed the use of its grounds.

"It was amazing to see another brilliant turnout and the weather was great. Riders were returning with smiling faces.

"A huge thanks go to all who took part. I would also like to thank the team from Pendle Forest & Craven Hunt for its time and efforts – it was a great support with the organisation."

Next year's event has been scheduled for June 5.
