MORE than 50 members of South Craven Walking 4 Health (SCW4H) took part in the group's Summer Solstice walk to Sutton's Earls Crag and Lund's Tower.
Walkers from the weekly walks on Monday and Thursday joined those who take part in the Wednesday summer evening walks.
Some walked all the way from Glusburn while others started walking from near Wainman's Pinnacle above Cowling. They met up at Lund's Tower, admired the view and sang I Love To Go A-Wandering and You'll Never Walk Alone.
Stewart Anthony, the voluntary walk leader who organised the event, said: "For many of the walkers it was a very real challenge. It demonstrates the positive benefits of coming on our walks regularly and it's a credit to them that we all got to Lund's Tower."
Afterwards the group enjoyed a pie and peas supper at the Dog & Gun pub.
South Craven Walking 4 Health organises regular health walks, aimed specifically at people who need to undertake some physical activity for health reasons.
