A SHORT triathlon event will be held in Skipton later this month.
Go Tri Skipton, a super sprint triathlon aimed at getting people into the three sport discipline, will take place on Sunday, July 26.
It will include a 200 metre swim at Craven Pool, followed by a nine-kilometre (5.6 mile) road bike ride around Skipton and will finish off with a 2.5 kilometre (1.6 mile) run around Aireville Park.
The first wave of participants will get the event under way with a 7am start at Craven Pool.
The event is organised by Craven Energy Triathlon Club and its members say the short super sprint format is designed for beginners who want to try the sport.
Alison Bell, a member of Craven Energy Triathlon Club, said: "Our main aim is to get people active and involved in triathlon and there will hopefully be more Go Tri events in the future."
Limited spaces are available to enhance the quality of the competitor experience, which will be a first-time event for most participants.
Entries cost £8 and for more information, email gotriskipton@gmail.com
