TALENTED teenager Tom Pidcock has been selected to represent Great Britain in the European Youth Olympic Festival in Georgia.

The 15-year-old is part of a six-strong cycling team which includes Robbertown's Harry Hardcastle who pipped him in an exciting under-16 race at Otley.

Pidcock, an Olympic Development apprentice, has been adding victories to his blossoming CV with great regularity this summer.

He has won the men's and youth races in the town centre events at Pontefract, Doncaster, Harrogate and Ilkley as well as winning the Chevin Cycles Classic in his home race at Otley, straight after his defeat in the under-16 event.

The European Olympic Festival starts next Friday and runs until August 1. IOt will be a great opportunity for Pidcock to test himself against some of the continent's finest young riders.
