THE gruelling Tough Mudder returns to Broughton Hall this weekend.
The obstacle course covers ten to 12 miles and marries "daring terrain with some of the best heavy mud the UK has to offer".
As well as fighting through woodland, streams and bogs, Mudders are treated to glimpses of Craven’s rugged moors.
This year's course has ten new obstacles, including King of the Swingers (a pendulum swing off a 12ft platform), Dead Ringer (a traverse across a series of inclined pegs using handheld rings) and Cry Baby (a tunnel crawl through a tear-gas-like substance).
And there will be an all-new course for children aged from seven to 12, which will encourage them to try new things, build friendships and work as a team.
Among the competitors will be a team from sponsors Sony, which will include singer Vanessa White and broadcaster and writer Rick Edwards.
