OLYMPIC athlete Jo Pavey made an inspirational visit to employees Barnoldswick bed manufacturer Silentnight.

The British long-distance runner visited workers as part of Silentnight’s Achievements campaign, which highlights the importance of a great night’s sleep.

During her visit, the Olympian gave a speech about her experiences, took a tour of the factory, met some of the staff and presented the internal achievements award, which recognises members of the Silentnight team who have done something great either at work or at home.

Juggling a successful running career with a young family, Jo has taken part in four Olympic Games and recently won gold in the 10,000m race at the Zurich 2014 European Championships, at the age of 41, just 11 months after giving birth to her second child.

Jo was the oldest woman ever to claim gold at a European Championships and in June 2015, she was awarded an MBE for her services to athletics.

She said: “I’ve really enjoyed meeting the team here at Silentnight. Getting to know the employees and seeing how hard they work has been really inspiring. I’m thrilled to come and reward them for their achievements.”
