SKIPTON'S Ermysted’s Grammar School has celebrated the end of a project that has seen effort and attainment levels of Muslim students improve during the past few months.
The project, entitled Muslim Voices, has encouraged Muslim pupils to explain what life is like for them in school by making videos and writing a book of their experiences.
The project has developed the confidence of students who have worked with Amanda Price, subject leader for English, since the beginning of the year.
The boys have also been working with students from the town's Ings Primary School on a paired-reading project, which has seen significant improvements in reading skills.
Some of the non-Muslim boys were challenged to fast for a day and recounted their experiences to the audience before sharing a meal together provided by the Aagrah Restaurant in Skipton.
