A TEAM of businessmen aiming to conquer 12 mountains in as many months in aid of charity has completed its greatest challenge yet.

The intrepid trekkers have scaled Britain's highest peak, Ben Nevis.

And they had to overcome rain, sleet and snow to reach the 1,344-metre-high summit.

The group, known as the Walk Society, is raising money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Member Rob Lewis, from Steeton, director of credit control agency Corporate & Commercial, said: "All through our challenges we'd been gearing up to Ben Nevis.

"To be one of a fortunate few who can say 'I've climbed Ben Nevis and did so to do some good for others' will always leave me with a sense of pride, warmth and belonging."
