THE Lime Gallery at The Courtyard, Settle, revealed its new exhibition this week.

It features artists Annwyn Dean, Laura Smith, Marcus Hammond and Linda Hoyle - and the connecting theme is Discovery.

Annwyn Dean's textile-inspired work features handmade books and wallhangings. Inspired by fragments from her archive of ancient lace and fabrics, her pieces are full of texture, intricacy and stories of lost times and travels.

Marcus Hammond is a contemporary Yorkshire artist with a powerful interpretation of the landscape. Imaginative colour, bold brushstrokes and a deep personal connection to the environment create intensely detailed images.

Laura Smith's glass work is inspired by the sea. Buoys are encrusted with glass rope and copper, vases inspired by barnacles, and the jade colours take you into the far flung waters of the oceans.

Linda Hoyle is an artist who has recently made the transition to metal working. Her open style reflects the environment she is operating in.

The exhibition will run until the end of the month.
