MORE than 30 walkers completed this year's annual Beating the Bounds around the ancient boundary of Barnoldswick.
Starting and finishing at Letcliffe Park, the walkers circumnavigated the route anti-clockwise and had a stop for lunch at Victory Park Pavilion.
The lunch of Yorkshire ham or cheese sandwiches, followed by a generous helping of parkin, was sourced from the local independent traders and provided by Barnoldswick Town Council.
And payment for the lunch was a choral rendering of the Beating the Bounds Song which is normally sung to the well known tune of The Holly and The Ivy.
Cllr Anthony Lancaster was designated as the duty co-ordinator for this year's event and it was he, who under protest and the amusement of all, led this year's rendition to a newly-discovered interpretation of the ancient melody.
