Otley Tavern 2 Saltaire Rangers 3

OTLEY Tavern were once again scuppered by a last-minute goal when they looked set for a share of the spoils.

Saltaire had taken the lead early on in the match with a good strike from William Lowther that skidded under Tavern's goalie Richard Henry on a wet surface.

Tavern managed to equalise after a great through ball by Max Drake was picked up by Jonny Weedon who finished powerfully past the keeper.

The goal seemed to spur Tavern on as they produced good football and looked in control of the game. Mitch Lambert-Tuthill had his shot saved when put in the clear.

Saltaire looked dangerous on the counter attack but the defence of Ben Lawton, Matthew Fleming, Daniel Fahy and Lee Ingle denied several goal opportunities for Saltaire.

There was a potential flashpoint when Henry dived at the feet of an advancing forward and appeared to be kicked. The referee chose to yellow card the forward when he might have taken stronger action.

Tavern went ahead before the interval when

Tavern then took the lead into half time through Adam Walwyn netted from a tight angle after the Saltaire keeper had saved his initial header from Ben Palmer's cross.

Saltaire equalised in the second half through another smart finish from Lowther.

Both teams battled hard for a winner and Walwyn blasted the ball over from six yards when well placed.

The winner came when Lowther completed his hat-trick after the Tavern defence failed to clear their lines.
