MORE than 200 people, mostly young athletes from clubs as far away as Scarborough and Darlington as well as local competitors from Ilkley Swimming Club and Junior Ilkley Harriers, took part in the fourth Annual Ilkley Aquathon.
The sun shone down on the event organised jointly by Ilkley Swim and Ilkley Harriers and sanctioned by British Triathlon as part of the Yorkshire Junior Triathlon Series men's and women's categories through Finlay Lawless-Coombes and Esther Hollis.
They were also successful in the junior age groups with Dominic Coy and Joe Sherman winning the Tri Star 3 and Tri Star 2 categories respectively.
Eve Jones, also from Leeds and Bradford, was first in the girls Tri Star 2 category.
Wakefield Junior members also did well with a win in the Tri starts for Lucy Holland, Millie Yates in Tri Star 3 and Lucy Clough in the youth race.
Other winners included Jacob Brown for the Tristart boys, Amelia Crispin for the Tri Star 1 girls, Archie Norton of NYP Tristars for the Tri Star 1 boys and finally Reece Allen in the boys youth race.
