STAFF from Skipton Building Society delighted a group of disabled children with a trip to Blackpool Zoo.
For a second year, employees from the building society raised funds to pay for a zoo trip for children supported by the local children's charity SELFA.
Raising more than £1,000, the SBS team took children with profound and multiple disabilities on a day out to the zoo.
To ensure the trip was extra special, staff arranged surprise activities including front row seats at a sea lion show and shopping for cuddly toys.
Stacey Hanson and her son, Oliver, went on the trip and were overwhelmed by the SBS team’s kindness.
She said: “It was an amazing day out. All of the activities at the zoo were such fun and it was wonderful to see how much the children all got out of it. The Skipton Building Society team helped us all, pushing a wheelchair, or playing a game and engaging with the children, to make the day just that bit easier for us. Their kindness really made for memorable day.”
The SBS team was led by business information service manager Julie Carlton.
She said: “Everyone at our head office building helped fund this fabulous trip. We all had fun getting together and fundraising but we got the most enjoyment out of the day."
