TOOLS from Skipton will shortly be on their way to Africa after their owner had no further need of them.

Following the sale of the former engineer's home in Burnside Avenue and his move into a nursing home, estate agents Carling Jones suggested a use for his massive collection of quality tools.

"I was aware that the Rotary Club of Skipton was collecting old tools to send to Africa after first being refurbished in the UK," said Ian Carling, of Carling Jones.

Now, the tools are with the volunteer group, Ilkley Tools for Africa, where they will be restored before being sent to their new owners.

"This will change the lives of a number of people as they will now have tools to work with," said the group's Paul Jacques.

Anyone who would like to donate unwanted tools to a good cause can contact the Rotary Club through its website.
