THE Lord Mayor of Bradford is expected to make a return visit to Addingham later this month.

The village has had two visits by Cllr Joanne Dodds during he past two years when she was deputy.

The first trip was for the induction of Jill Perrett at St Peter’s Church and the second, in February last year, was to meet representatives from the many village groups and pupils from the school.

When she became Lord Mayor in May this year, she invited members of Addingham Civic Society's executive committee, and their partners, to a reception at City Hall.

And Cllr Dodds agreed to attend the society's autumn fair on October 17.

Society chairman, Jim Robinson, said: "We know Joanne enjoyed her visits to Addingham but it was still a wonderful surprise to receive an invitation completely out of the blue to attend the reception in the wonderful surroundings of City Hall. We are now really looking forward to the Lord Mayor’s next visit to the village."

The fair, which will have a royal theme, will be held at Addingham Memorial Hall in Main Street, from 11am to 1.30pm.
