MAGICIAN Paul Daniels and a host of TV comedians will appear during Glusburn Institute’s new season.

Between now and next spring there will also be regular film shows, a U2 tribute act and the venue’s annual family pantomime.

The Institute, now branded Glusburn Community and Arts Centre, promises something for everyone in its biggest-ever programme.

Spokesman Jason Smith said: “We hope to attract a bigger audience with a wider array of live music concerts, film, comedy and theatre.”

Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee will perform their Intimate Magic Show after extending their 2015 national tour well into the New Year due to its success.

Jason said: “They join us on March 5. A sell out is expected for this so don't miss out - tickets are on sale now!”

Jason said the first of the accent’s Laugh Out Loud Comedy Nights would be on April 2.

He said: "We have three comedians joining us all with multiple TV and radio credits. They are Tommy Rowson, Mark Smith and headliner Gareth Richards.

“We have once again teamed up with Cine North to bring you our monthly Film Fridays. Our October film is The Hundred Foot Journey.

“On October 31 we are joined by the best U2 Tribute around - New 2. The frontman is a spitting image of Bono. Not only does he look like him but he sounds just like him too!”

The annual Glusburn pantomime will run from February 14 to 20, during the half-term holidays, as Glusburn Youth Theatre present Alice in Wonderland.

Jason added: "It is billed to be the best panto yet, with a cast of over 40 young people, not forgetting the famous flying ballet.”

Film Fridays will include The Hundred Foot Journey on October 16, Gone Girl on November 20, and Kingsman The Secret Service on January 15,

Other events: ceilidh for Manorlands, October 24; arts and crafts fair, November 15; Christmas event Get Santa, December 18; Resurrection indie disco and rave, January 23.
