SKIPTON'S Fisher Medical Centre has opened a new library in the ground floor waiting room.
It wants to encourage more patients to read as a means of improving their mental wellbeing.
The library - a Practice Health Champions initiative - has a large variety of popular second hand books and patients can simply take a book home to read and then swap it for another.
The practice - which is appealing to people to donate unwanted books - has also set up a book club, which meets at the Coach Street surgery every other Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm.
