BRADFORD CITY and Guiseley gave Battyeford Belles and Dewsbury Rangers a taste of FA Women's Premier league football this week - and it didn't taste so good for the West Riding League sides!

The West Riding County Cup first round draw threw up these two WPL (North) v West Riding League clashes and it finished in a spectacular 45-0 result for the Premier League.

It has been a good start to the season for Battyeford in the WR League First Division but though they impressed City with their determination and spirited enthusiasm they were only really in the game for the first ten scoreless minutes - and then the floodgates opened and City scored 22 goals without reply.

Emma Elliot, signed from Harrogate Railway in the summer, made her first team debut and hit six for City in 35 minutes before being substituted at half-time with the score already 15-0. Seven more were added after the break with Olivier Thackray and Hannah Campbell also completing hat-tricks.

It was even worse for Dewsbury Rangers with Guiseley Vixens running out 23-0 winners as Adele Jackson, Emily Scott, Nadine Bates and Tanya Rich all collected hat-tricks for the visitors.

West Riding League Premier side Bradford Park Avenue also progressed to round two after an 8-0 win over Third Division Amaranth as Nic Chamberlain (3), Nat Bell (2), Vicky Mladenovic (2) and Jade Nelson all found the net for the Bradford side.

In the second round, to be played on November 15, Bradford City will be at Wetherby Athletic, Guiseley are at Boroughbridge and Bradford Park Avenue host Brayton Belles.

The remaining ties are: Brighouse Athletic v Ossett Albion, Farsley Celtic v Tingley Ath, Oulton v Tingley reserves, Silsden v Leeds, Castleford White Rose v Brighouse Town.

Bradford City will be hoping to continue their winning league and cup run tomorrow when they go to Stoke City in the WPL (North) while Guiseley, still looking for their first league win, are at home to second-placed Sporting Albion.

City's reserves are at home to Stoke City in a League Cup game, while the A team are at bottom club Republica International in the West Riding League First Division. In their last game the City A team beat Wetherby Athletic reserves 9-1.
