Otley Town 0 Hunslet Club 0
OTLEY Town played out a goalless draw with Hunslet Club in a West Yorkshire League Premier Division game that was a more entertaining game than the scoreline suggests.
With top scorer Toby Harris banned, Town re-jigged and pushed Scott Firth into a striking berth from his usual left midfield position with Farrell Hunt coming in to the team.
Veteran Jamie Simms was also back at centre-half following a long absence.
With defences dominating, honours even was about the right result, both sides contributing to a decent spectacle.
It was Hunslet who actually went closest to stealing a win when they struck the bar twice in the second half with goalkeeper Chris Brodie beaten.
Town had a couple of good chances themselves in the first period. Hunt inexplicably headed wide when unmarked at the far post and Firth might have scored but for the alertness of the Hunslet keeper who quickly came off his line to smother a goalbound shot
Otherwise both defences were in excellent form, with Joe Currie the pick of the bunch for Town.
This Saturday there is another home match against Wetherby Athletic (2pm kick-off).
