THE Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for parts of Earby.
The EA, which issued the warning at 12.37pm today, stated: "Heavy and persistent rainfall is causing river levels to rise steadily. This will continue today and levels will peak by mid afternoon, then start to fall overnight. River levels are likely to rise very quickly."
Properties included in the warning are on or around School Lane, Victoria Road, Water Street, Goodall Close, Lower Croft Street, Aspen Lane, Cemetery Road, Grove Street, Shuttleworth Street, Duxbury Street and Red Lion Street.
When the Craven Herald contacted Earby flood warden Pat Spenceley at 4.30pm, she said: "The beck has come up but it stopped raining and has gone down. We're expecting a few problems tomorrow."
She also said that people had been out sandbagging to help protect properties from the floodwaters.
