AFTERNOON tea dances returned to Skipton Town Hall, with the first declared a great success.
Following the popular evening dances, hall managers were urged to stage afternoon events.
And the first, with Blackpool Tower's John Bowdler at the organ, was enthusiastically received with more than 50 tickets sold.
Mr Bowdler, resident organist at Blackpool Tower for 26 years, has been coming to Skipton for several years and has built up a following across Craven.
Young and older dancers, both professional and amateur took to the dance floor in Skipton's very own Strictly Come Dancing routine.
Dancer Catherine Edwards who came along as part of a group, said it was a wonderful afternoon.
"Everyone was helpful, John must have felt that the afternoon was a success and we look forward to the next dance in February," she said.
Dancers will be able to take part in the next afternoon tea dance in February next year. Tickets in advance from Skipton Tourist Information Centre, Skipton Town Hall.
