A FAMILY fundraising team has had another successful event to raise money for Manorlands.

The Dog & Gun pub, in Glusburn, offered to stage a clothes sale in aid of the Team Angus appeal, which was launched in memory of Angus Smith, who died in February aged 88.

Mr Smith was cared for in the Oxenhope hospice before he died.

His daughter Julie Whitaker, who lives in Glusburn, said: "Anita Walker, of the Dog & Gun, kindly offered to stage a clothes sale for us at the pub which was very well attended.

"Friends were asked to donate quality items to sell on the night and Team Angus would like to thank Anita and staff and everyone who supported the event. The amount raised was £316."

The Team Angus effort will culminate in a charity ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Mrs Whitaker and her husband Michael will climb the peak with their sons Paul, Sam and Matthew. They will fly out to Tanzania on Boxing Day.
