THE former 'community champion' for Skipton's Tesco supermarket has just taken on a brand new challenge - at one of the town's most well-known cafes.
Keith Moorby is the new manager at The Boat House, on Skipton's town centre canal basin, off Coach Street, and says he intends to bring to the role the same enthusiasm that helped to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
He said: "I've loved the job so far, though obviously I'm having to learn new skills. I was in supermarket retail for 20 years and got to work with some lovely people, but I'm excited by this fresh challenge.
"I have always enjoyed talking to customers, and obviously I can continue doing that in this new role. We've revamped the menu while retaining tried and trusted favourites. There's a top class, friendly staff here too, and we are in a great location, so everything's in place to maintain the success of the Boat House. I'm looking forward to it."
