A NURSE has been accused of misconduct while working at a Steeton nursing home.
Alison Birkett is facing five charges before regulatory body, the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC).
The alleged misconduct took place while she was working at Currergate in Skipton Road.
A hearing began at the NMC in London on Tuesday and is scheduled to end tomorrow.
The charges are:
l that on December 31, 2014, she failed at or around 6pm to administer 5ml of Carbamazepine Liquid 100mg/5ml and 10ml of Ranitidine Oral Solution 75mg/5ml to patient A, and signed the medication administration record chart to record that she had administered 10ml of Ranitidine Oral Solution 75mg/5ml when she hadn't
l on the same date, she administered Co-Beneldopa 25/100mg dispersible tablets to patient B at 9am when the medication was due at 8am and at 4.45pm when the medication was due at 4pm
l on the same date, she failed to attend to wounds and/or dressings in respect of patients C, D and G; and
l on the same date, she administered one 10mg Zomorph capsule to patient E when two 10mg Zomorph capsules were prescribed
l on January 4, 2015, she failed to escalate and/or monitor the elevated National Early Warning Score of patient F.
Currergate declined to comment when contacted by the Craven Herald.
