BLUEPRINTS for proposed improvements to a junction in Silsden have been unveiled by Bradford Council.
Traffic signals could be installed at the junction of Bolton Road and Bell Square, which will include a phase for pedestrians to cross.
Existing double yellow lines around the junction could be extended to improve safety as vehicles approach.
Keighley Area Committee, part of Bradford Council, allocated funding for junction improvements in July last year.
Plans drawn up by senior traffic engineer, Bruce Andrews, were recently posted to the silsden.net community website.
Mr Andrews said: “The scheme aims to decrease the amount of congestion when turning out of Bell Square onto Bolton Road and also reduce the number of road safety problems.”
The junction is used by the Keighley to Ilkley bus, which leaves the main road at the other end of Silsden via Elliott Street, travels through housing estates, then emerges back onto the main road at Bell Square.
