THE story of the Rylstone WI Calendar Girls is known across the globe.
The ladies posed for an "alternative" calendar in 1999 to raise money for Leukaemia Research in memory of John Baker – husband of WI member Angela Baker – who died from non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Since its inception, the calendar idea has raised more than £4 million for research into blood related cancers.
Now, Grassington Festival is offering people the chance to have afternoon tea with the Calendar Girls at Annie and Betty’s Vintage Tea Room in Grassington Square on June 2.
Calendar Girl, Tricia Stewart, said: “Grassington Festival is a very special event, as we’ve all been coming along to it for years, and we were delighted to be invited to be part of this year’s programme.”
