SKIPTON-born Megan Smith has followed her dreams - and opened a one-stop beauty salon.
After attending the town's St Stephen's Primary School and Holy Family School at Keighley, Megan studied hairdressing at Craven College, Skipton, and dreamt of opening her own place where clients could go for everything from tanning and make-up to massages and hair.
And that is exactly what is in offer at her new venture, Ultraviolet, on Skipton's Belmont Bridge.
People were queuing to get in at the opening night and a raffle was held to raise money for the children's ward at Airedale Hospital.
Megan said that she had been overwhelmed by all the support that she had received from friends, family, loyal clients and new clients.
The salon has four stylists - two of whom have worked alongside Megan for years - and a beautician. All are local women.
