THE Yorkshire Ambulance Service went to the aid of an unconscious teenager in the Malham area last Wednesday.
The 15-year-old girl was reported to be "one mile north of Malham Cove", but the map reference given placed her in the Irish Sea.
Attempts to verify the location were unsuccessful and members of the Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation were called out to start a search.
But as the first team vehicle arrived in Malham, the ambulance crew reported that they had located the girl, who had regained consciousness and had been walked down to Cove Road, from the steps to the west of Malham Cove.
The CRO team was subsequently stood down.
