AN adventurer who works for a Steeton company is tackling her second major overseas expedition in support of a hospice is staging a fundraising ball.
Georgie Chester is heading to the Borneo rainforest for a nine-day trek in October, in aid of Manorlands.
And she has to raise at least £4,000 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
She is holding a Masquerade for Manorlands ball at the Bankfield Mercure Hotel, Cottingley, on June 17, at 7pm.
The event will include live entertainment, raffles and date and silent auctions.
Tickets are priced £40, which includes a free drink on arrival, a three-course meal and entry into a prize draw.
Two years ago, Georgie – European job auditing manager at Acorn Stairlifts in Steeton – completed a gruelling Himalayan trek for Manorlands.
That challenge, tackled with a work colleague, raised nearly £6,000.
"I don't do your average holiday!" said Georgie.
"I'm quite adventurous, and when I'd completed the Himalayas, it gave me a taste to do more."
