GARDENERS and holders of allotments have until the end of May to enter the annual Skipton in Bloom town gardening competition.

Householders, allotment gardeners, schools and businesses, can all enter the competition and be in with a chance of winning a gold, silver gilt, silver or bronze award.

Prizes will be awarded for the best private front and back gardens, and for the best private courtyard garden. There will also be a section for school gardens, and best display by a business or organisation. Prizes will also be awarded for best allotments in Middletown and in Broughton Road.

Entries need to be made by May 31 and judging is due to take place towards the end of June, or early JulyAn awards ceremony will take place in September.
