EAGER GCSE English Literature students at West Craven High School in Barnoldswick had the opportunity to experience JB Priestley's 'An Inspector Calls' at The Lowry in Manchester.
Hailed as the theatrical event of a generation, winning more awards than any other play in history, this landmark production from the National Theatre has thrilled audiences in the West End, on Broadway and throughout the world.
When Inspector Goole arrives unexpectedly at the prosperous Birling family home, their peaceful dinner party is shattered by his investigations into the death of a young woman.
His startling revelations shake the foundations of their lives and challenge everyone to examine their conscience.
Year 10 student Daniel Dyson thought the staging and special effects helped bring the story alive.
Another pupil, Jodi Holden, also commented how seeing and experiencing productions as good as this helped understand things from the writer's perspective and made people think about bigger issues.
