AN INAUGURAL Solstice Saunter five-mile run and walk in aid of Manorlands was a soaraway success.
A full field of 500 entrants took part in Monday's event at Bolton Abbey.
And more than £7,000 was raised for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
The event was organised by the Airedale Hospital-based running club, Airedale Dodgers.
Chris Healey, for the club, said: "Thanks go to the many local running clubs and individuals, who supported us on this wonderful evening.
"The Airedale Dodgers have raised more than £40,000 for Manorlands in the past six years, but this has to rank as one of our best events yet – we hope to see everyone again next year!"
Thanks were also expressed to Keighley brewery Timothy Taylor for its sponsorship.
Jane Jenkins, head of marketing at Taylor's, said: "With Manorlands being one of our chosen charities, we were happy to sponsor the Solstice Saunter – including providing 500 bottles of Le Champion, a French-style blonde beer, for all finishers."
First runner home was Robin Outtersides. Bethan Knights was second, Ethan Hassell third and Matthew Bould fourth.
