SETTLE area swimming pool received a boost of more than £3,000 thanks to the fundraising efforts of groups and businesses in the town.
The Royal Oak Hotel in Settle raised in excess of £1,000 at an event coinciding with the recent Tour de Yorkshire, while the HSBC bank held a quiz evening at North Ribblesdale Rugby Club, which also raised more than £1,000.
The remaining cash was coined in by Settle Rotary Club with its Settle Saunter sponsored walk.
Pool chairman, Trevor Graveson, said: "The generosity and support from the local community is greatly appreciated, and it continues to be a tremendous boost for the pool."
Meanwhile, Mr Graveson plans to stand down as pool chairman at the annual meeting tomorrow after three "tough" years.
A five-year business plan for the pool is expected to be presented by consultants, Strategic Leisure, shortly.
"I am confident the AGM will see a committee appointed that will include new faces with the enthusiasm and commitment to implement the business plan and secure the future of the pool," added Mr Graveson.
