POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two cyclists were injured in a collision near Skipton.

They collided with a Ford Transit van on the A629 Skipton bypass at around 11am on Saturday.

The male cyclist sustained back injuries and the woman received injuries to one of her legs. Both were taken to Leeds General Infirmary where their conditions were described on Monday as not life-threatening.

The road was closed for several hours while police and other emergency services dealt with the incident.
