SPOT On will bring a new play, based on the First World War and written as a tribute to its creator’s great grandfather, to Tosside this weekend.
Notes From The Front will be performed at the community hall on Saturday at 7.30pm.
It is a dramatisation of contemporary testimony, poetry and song, written and performed with compassion and humour by David Telfer as a tribute to his great grandfather who fell at Gallipoli on August 8, 1915.
The compelling one-man show covers the experiences of soldiers throughout history with a particular focus on World War One, including regional material on the PALs.
Whilst many of the stories are tragic, there is humour, hope and honour too, a fitting celebration of those who gave their lives and commemoration of a global event that defined a generation.
Spot On promotes and hosts high quality professional arts events in village halls, churches and schools.
Tickets cost £6 for adults and £4 for concessions and are available from 01729 840272.
