SKIPTON Castle has been shortlisted in a campaign to find the UK’s best ‘Window with a View’.

It was one of four attractions and buildings across Yorkshire and Humberside to be shortlisted for the area.

Photos of the windows and views from Skipton Castle, together with the University of Sheffield’s Diamond Building, York Minster and Burton House in Whitby were all entered into the national competition, launched by the website MyGlazing.com, after being deemed by judges to be the best entries from the region.

The competition invited anyone visiting or working at an attraction or building open to the public to take a picture from a window with an impressive view.

There were more 150 entries in total, ranging from coastlines and landscapes to city skylines and industrial scenes.

A judging panel of experts took the window, view and overall photograph into consideration for the scoring process.

The public is now asked to vote for their favourite Window with a View in each area by visiting myglazing.com/WWAV. Voting closes on July 29.

Each area winner will be put forward to compete for the title of the UK’s Best Window with a View, with voting for the national title running throughout August.
