SKIPTON Baptist Church will reveal its plans for the old Fisher Medical Centre on Saturday.
The church bought the adjacent Otley Street building – once home to Medacs recruitment agency – in September and is about to submit plans to turn it into a centre for community activities.
"We could almost fill it with the stuff we have straight away," said minister, the Rev Lisa Holmes. "We hope it will provide more space for the food bank, our children's work and offices. It will create a better community facility."
The church hopes to submit plans to Craven District Council later this month and, if permission is granted, it expects the work to be completed by September 2017.
Mrs Holmes added: "I think that is realistic, although there is a lot of work to do. We also need to raise money for the refurbishment, which will be in the region of £200,000."
And, in a bid to win community support, it is holding an open day on Saturday, with guided tours available from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
"People will be able to look around and hear about our vision for the building, which is known as The House," said Mrs Holmes.
Anyone wishing to take part should meet at the church, where tea and coffee will be available.
