SCOFF Café – which operates weekly at Skipton's Greatwood and Horse Close Community Centre - raised £165 from a raffle at its first birthday celebration.
It was agreed by all concerned that the money would be donated to Cancer Support Yorkshire's Skipton centre on Otley Street.
Ray Marfell, Scoff chef and mine host, said: “Most people have experience of cancer in their families or social circle. We decided that the cancer centre was such a vital community support that we would donate this money to the centre to help keep it open.”
Debi Hawkins, Cancer Support Centre co-ordinator, said: “We are so grateful that this community group decided to donate the proceeds of their raffle to our centre. The money will go directly to support the continued delivery of services to local people.”
