SKIPTON Woods will be the focus of two events being organised by the Woodland Trust.

There will be an evening history walk this Wednesday and a night-time bat walk on Wednesday, July 27.

The history walk will be led by Sue Wrathmell from Skipton Civic Society and is a chance to learn more about the wood and its fascinating past.

The 90-minute walk, which starts at 7pm, will include some steep steps and inclines.

And those taking part in the bat walk will be challenged to spot as many species as possible and learn a little more about the furry flyers that call the wood ‘home’. That walk will start at 7.30pm.

Admission for both events is £2 (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult) and booking is essential. Call 0330 333 5302 or visit centralevents@woodlandtrust.org.uk
