TEN care workers from Czajka Care Group have raised £600 by taking part in a sponsored walk to climb Penyghent, one of the highest fells in the Yorkshire Dales with a summit that is 694 metres above sea level.

The staff from Czajka Care Group’s Beanlands Nursing Home, which is located in Glusburn, and Currergate Nursing Home in Steeton, walked the seven miles to raise money for the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope.

Konrad Czajka, managing director of Czajka Care Group, said: “We were keen to raise more money for the hospice as it plays such a valuable role providing palliative care and complementary therapy services to support people with life-limiting conditions.

“In total we have raised almost £1,800 for the hospice over the two years and will continue to support it in the future.”

Half of the money raised will also be donated to Czajka Care Group’s Residents Fund – which has previously been used to buy everything from karaoke machines to Nintendo Wiis.
