PLANNED changes to an approved bungalow extension in Raikes Road, Skipton, have been dismissed on appeal.

An application to amend the approved plan for 72 Raikes Road was refused permission by Craven District Council in April, and has now also been refused by the Planning Inspectorate.

Changes to the scheme would have seen the roof of the detached bungalow move more than a meter closer to its neighbour, together with a larger garage.

Government inspector, Sue Glover, said the amended plan would put the garage and roof closer to the neighbouring property and would block views, but she was not able to take that into account.

She did, however, find the proposals to be 'awkward, discordant and out of keeping' with the original design of the bungalow and its two similar neighbours.
