A GROUP of mainly women runners achieved their goal at the weekend of completing their first ever 5km run.
The group has been busy training during the past 12 weeks to take part in the weekly Skipton Parkrun at Aireville Park, while also raising money for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
Called Craven Couch 2 5K, the group has been trained by triathlete and motivational speaker, Andy Mouncey, from Settle.
It is a joint project between North Yorkshire Sport, Craven District Council and the charity.
"I've asked them to choose one to three words to describe their experience during the past 12 weeks, and some they've come up with are 'motivation, fun, revealing and awesome'," he said.
After successfully completing the run, the group, which steadily grew in numbers to about 30, is considering a name to call itself.
