NEW secure fencing planned for Skipton Girls' High School is being recommended for approval.
The school is proposing a new front entrance in addition to security fencing around the whole site.
The plans, which are being recommended for approval at Monday's Craven District Council planning committee meeting, will see a new infill secure entrance to the school, off Gargrave Road, built between the existing drama studio and the current reception.
The proposed wrought iron and 2.4 metre-high Paladin (welded mesh panel) fencing will be installed at a number of sites, to the back of the school and to the south of the tennis courts.
In a report to Monday's meeting, planning officers recommend approval, with conditions including care must be taken to avoid damage to tree roots.
The school has recently re-submitted a withdrawn application to build two three-bedroom semi-detached houses in its grounds, which will be considered separately.
