ORGANISERS of Gargrave Show will be hoping good weather will bring the crowds flocking this weekend.

The 112th annual event will be held as usual on Saturday in front of Eshton Hall, Eshton Road, just outside Gargrave.

Plenty of car parking is available at the site, although a mini-bus service will be available with pickups and drop offs at the summer seat, in the centre of Gargrave, and at the village end of Eshton Road.

The traditional agricultural show will see the very best of cattle, sheep, poultry and horses competing against each other throughout the day.

There will also be a display of vintage cars and classic tractors, and plenty of stalls and games for all the family.

Adults and children will take place in the fell races, which will kick off at 12 midday from the main ring.

After the success of last year's event, there will also be a hotly contested round bale pushing competition - where groups of men and women compete against each other to push round bales over an obstacle course.

There will also be classes for Shire Horses and Shetland Ponies, and both clear round showjumping and showjumping.

A variety and range of poultry will be on show, and there will also be the very best of horticulture and crafts on display.

Youngsters will be put through their paces in the junior sheep handling competition, and there will also be the ever popular tug-o-war competition.

Dog owners will be given the chance to enter the exemption dog show and the show itself will finish with terrier racing.

Entry to the show is £10 for adults and free for under 16s. First classes to be judged will be the working hunters at 8.30am.
