TIME is fast running out for community groups to apply for funding from Craven District Council.

Applications for the last round of community grants should be submitted before Sunday, September 4.

Projects applying for cash should address one or more of the council’s priorities - enterprising Craven, working with communities, greener Craven, or financial resilience.

They should also demonstrate a local need for the project and show how the proposals would benefit the community.

The final panel will meet in late September to consider the applications, and projects benefiting from the funding must be completed by the end of March 2017.

In addition, the newly launched ward member grant scheme, aims to allow groups to apply directly to their local councillors for cash to provide community run events, services and facilities.

Each ward councillor has a maximum of £1,000 to give out and the scheme will run as a pilot for a year. It is made up of the £16,000 budget for small and medium community grants, along with an additional £15,000 from the New Homes Bonus.

Groups wanting more advice on the scheme, can contact Kate Senior, partnerships officer on 01756 706414 or email ksenior@cravendc.gov.uk
