DIABETES alert dog, Holly, will find out tomorrow night whether she has won a national award for brave Britons.
Holly was matched with owner Alice Halstead, from Embsay, by the charity Medical Detection Dogs after Alice, 25, had spent more than three years in hospital due to auto immune insulin syndrome and type one diabetes.
Now Holly, a six year old curly-coated retriever, is one of four animals in the Hero Pet category of the Charles Holland Awards for Brave Britons from global hearing specialist Amplifon.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Churchill War Rooms in London tomorrow night. A panel of judges will also choose an overall Hero from the category winners who will win a trip to Italy where Amplifon was founded.
