A TOTAL of around £700 was raised with a raffle held at Bradley Show which will all go to boost various local charities.

Organisers have hailed the day as highly successful after the occasional rain shower failed to stop revellers enjoying the various events, with the first ever Party In the Park, featuring a variety of musical entertainment, pronounced a particular highlight.

The Fun Dog Show also proved very popular and attracted a high number of entries. Race balloons were released in memory of Neil Pate and Mike Tompkins and two benches were dedicated in their names.

One of the balloons has been reported to have reached as far as Doncaster, and organisers are waiting to see if any will have travelled further.
