SKIPTON Ermysted's Grammar School's annual cross country run next week will raise money in memory of a former headboy who died unexpectedly last month.

The all school run on the afternoon next Thursday will raise money for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), following the death in London of former pupil Chris Greenwood, 26, who was headboy in 2008.

Boys and members of staff will also raise money towards an overhaul of the school playing fields.

Boys can run either in PE kit or in fancy dress on a course around Aireville Park.

The annual run has been going for more than a hundred years and at one time attracted large numbers of spectators.

Last year, the event raised money for equipment for the new sixth form block.
