SKIPTON Academy has a new headboy and headgirl - and they are both looking forward to making a difference.

Harry Campbell and Emma Pighills were elected following a rigorous election campaign, and well attended hustings.

Emma said “I wanted to be head girl because I wanted to prove to myself and others that you can achieve anything and everything when you put your mind to it. I wanted to help the school and make a difference”.

And Harry said he was looking forward to giving something back to the school.

“I wanted to give back to the school because of what it has given me. Over the five years that I have attended here, I have witnessed it change into a more welcoming and academic environment. I believe this school opens doors and opportunities for the students who attend”.

Principal Wendy Hamilton said “I look forward to working closely with Emma and Harry to make this a successful year”.
