A WOMAN, who is believed to have fallen from a railway bridge near Upper Sackville Street, Skipton, yesterday afternoon, was stretchered from the scene by firefighters.
They were assisted by members of Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association.
The woman was treated at the scene by paramedics before she was removed by Air Ambulance.
A North Yorkshire Fire Service spokesman said the woman was believed to have fallen from the bridge onto the embankment below and rolled close to the railway line.
The Skipton crews attended the scene after being requested to do so by the Police after reports a female had climbed onto a bridge.
She slipped and fell down a railway embankment.
Crews used lines, a paraguard stretcher and manpower to assist paramedics to move her to the ambulance.
The woman was transported to hospital via road ambulance suffering injuries to her pelvis and spine.
